   Mesoscale Discussion 1253
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
   0524 PM CDT Thu Jun 13 2024

Areas affected...Texas Panhandle/Oklahoma Panhandle into Western
   Oklahoma

   Concerning...Severe potential...Watch possible

   Valid 132224Z - 132330Z

   Probability of Watch Issuance...60 percent

SUMMARY...A severe thunderstorm watch will be considered for the
potential for a developing severe-wind gust threat as storms
   intensify into the early evening.

DISCUSSION...Thunderstorm development has been ongoing across the
Texas/Oklahoma Panhandles this afternoon. MLCAPE around 1500-2000
J/kg amid temperatures exceeding 100 F and dew point depressions in
the 40-50s, will support a risk for strong evaporatively cooled
downdrafts and an accompanying risk for severe gusts.
