Areas affected...portions of central into eastern Texas

   Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 224...

   Valid 100237Z - 100330Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 224
   continues.

SUMMARY...The severe threat continues across Severe Thunderstorm
Watch 224. Severe wind and hail remains the primary concern,
particularly with the more dominant supercell updrafts.

DISCUSSION...Two supercell thunderstorms with a history of very
large hail and severe wind gusts continue to move southward over
central/south-central TX, while a cluster of severe storms across
eastern TX may be growing upscale into an MCS. These storms continue
to progress amid a highly unstable and sheared environment. Though
nocturnal cooling will contribute to a gradual decline of the severe
threat, the degree of remaining instability suggests that severe
wind and hail should accompany the ongoing storms for at least a few
more hours. Should discrete supercell modes prevail, large hail will
remain the main threat, with severe gusts becoming the dominant
threat with any clusters that grow upscale.
